I'm not typically one to *** about yall's decisions or opinions because you usually hit the nail on the head the first time or rectify mistakes in the next issue but this issue made me question your decisions a little bit even though it's just a small change you'd be making.

Annette made a forum topic discussing the change that Triumph made with it's font for their new 675 and a few of us commented and mostly agreed that we would have kept the old version because it's "iconic" of the Triumph name and has a history of being familiar with enthusiasts.

Now in this month's issue Dave talks about some upgrades and changes in the mag and while most are a plus like the QR codes and more than likey the new departments but it in the "FIRST WORD" column he mentions the logo will be changed as well, I believe a sneak peek is on page 41 . That's where I find the problem and the Triumph discussion comes in.

I have been reading SSB for about 5 or 6 years but the oldest issue I have here with me dates October 06 and since then the SuperStreetbike logo has been the same. I'm sure there haven't been nearly as many complaints about the logo as there have been requests for it in sticker form from people wanting to place them on their rides whether it be 2 wheeled or 4.

What I'm asking is if you realize the importance of something as small as the font a motorcycle brand uses then why overlook or underestimate the importance of the design of your own logo even if it's not as old as something like the Triumph name?

Not to be rude or anything because I love what you guys do for us every month and respect each of you but it seems kinda hypocritical to acknowledge the decision Triumph made and disagree with it then to do the same yourself.

But if you insist on changing the mag to that extent then please send me all of the stickers of the old logo you have laying around and I will proudly stick them on my bike, truck, in my garage, and on my baby nephew's bald head to continue showing support for SSB but I 100% disagree with the bland, boring, and downgraded new logo you've decided on.

Other than that, keep up the amazing work and I look forward to the new departments and other upgrades to come.

I'd have to agree. The new logo is bland and pales in comparison to the old one. I know the logo doesn't make the mag but the attitude of this mag is what jumped out at me. So please don't waste all the old stickers and swag, and please don't send it all to Stunnin 750 cause I'm sure there are others that would like some iconic SSB memorabilia. I know I would!

Keep up the good work!

lol, now you're just being greedy. of course i'll take them all haha.

another point i thought of and another guy even wrote about it a while back is that when people go to their local magazine rack they usually know what they are looking for and usually it tends to be something familiar like the way the lettering is shaped in the logo of your magazine. The guy made a complaint that the bike on the cover covered the title of the mag and made it that much more difficult for him to point it out in the mass quantity of other rags on the rack, simply because he was looking for the familiar shape and design of the SSB magazine.

I also recall another reader making a statement about the sudden change of glue to staples for the binding of the mag. Not that that's a problem to me but it goes to show that even the smallest things get noticed by the dedicated followers of what you guys are working for.

C'mon now; a goofy 5-year old logo that was totally wrong from the get-go isn't iconic and not even comparable to the Triumph scenario.

SSB now has a contemporary look and feel with new departments and even more content than ever before. It should feel cleaner, more inviting and easier to read/absorb.
That was the goal anyways...

Ok, maybe not iconic in the way of the Triumph discussion but why fix what's not broken? I'm not one of the subscribers that will cancel a subscription over something petty like a logo I don't agree with but I liked the creativity and flare of the old one.

Contemporary? Like the recession? Was the stripper charging too much in royalties?

Hey, at least you have an opinion! Even though IMO your opinion is wrong haha.
So what about the rest of the mag? See it yet?

Not the February issue, I live in AK for now and I get my issue super late (almost a week before the next month's is in stores) and would have sit in Barnes & Noble to read it on time. I have no doubt it will still be the same great magazine or better though. Since I'm getting out of the Army soon and moving to AZ for the MMI I hope to see you guys at a few events and maybe finally get one of the cool SSB stickers the younger crowd likes. I'll let the O.G's (said, Old Guys) keep their contemporary stuff haha

-31 degrees. Believe me, I'm not thrilled about it. But, I am looking forward to the MMI in Phoenix and I harrass all of you here as often as I can to stay up to date on all things streetbike so I make do with what I've got.

It breaks my heart to see all of these bikes out in the elements in times like this though. I couldn't ever treat mine like that.

Just got the new issue, looks good. Didn't get to read much as I had to shovel a foot of snow last night. Definitely like the Euro look and feel, still the ol stripper star logo had some appeal. Maybe I'll take the mag with me to visit the bike locked up in cold storage tonight and check it out. Maybe start the bike up while wearin some mitts and a toque, nice cold beer in hand. Stunnin, I'm sure you must know what it feels like to look at the bike while it's -40 degrees outside.

Damn the cold weather! At least you can smell your bike's exhaust (if the battery isn't dead).

I keep a trickle charger on the battery so that I can go fire it up when I feel the need to smell the exhaust and hear the rumble.
