Triumph has released a new version of the Daytona 675, it's the R-version. Guess what? It has a new font. What do you prefer? Old font or new? Old font is the top one and new is bottom. I'm a fan of the old-school font, the lower case letters aren't really my thing.

I like the new, but I'd want the old simply because it's so iconic. The newer font doesn't really "mean" Triumph motorcycles the way the old one does.
If any of the Japanese big four changed their font I'd hardly notice...

shame on you dave. i like the big suzuki S and the 3 pointed yamaha star or whatever it is. the only one i don't care about that could use an update is the honda wings because it sounds like a fairy to me lol. And kawasaki just does lettering or the capital K sometimes so an update wouldn't hurt i guess

the big Suzuki S is OK, but nothing special and not even used that much. The Yamaha tuning fork logo is just that—instruments! Nothing to do with bikes. Honda's wings are so, so tacky.
Kawasaki needs a logo. And they seriously need to drop the "Ninja" moniker. How silly. Though in Kawi's defense, people who know nothing about bikes refer to every sportbike on the planet as a "Ninja," so I guess they did something right after all...

I agree with you dave, i was thinking the same thing before i read your response and couldn't think of the right word but iconic pretty much sums it up. As far as everybody referring to all streetbikes as ninjas is kinda true, either that or gixxers.

I was at a stop light and this rap star wannabe brother in his version of a pimped out honda accord asked me if I "ride" and if my bike was a Gixxer, (and it still had the big @$$ GSXR on the side) then when i told him yes, it is, he asked if it was a 1000, all the while all of my decals were wholly visible. Needless to say i couldn't wait for the light to go green as to cut that convo short.

I'm always mentioning posers or wannabe's but they get really old. Everybody buying literbikes or bigger just because they see them in rap videos or whatever. I can't help but shake my head and put a little extra distance between them and myself.

whew....but yes. i like the classic triumph and agree that the ninja gig is cheesy, but also like the simplicity of the Suzuki diamond S
