Sounds good, really looking forward to the NEW articles!
I've sold pretty much everything since getting out of the military. The only thing I've got left is the BUSA (for now).
This was at the Texas Mile... (Stock height 203mph run)

I don't have any current without the BIG plate...

Here is a link to my complete build thread (stock -to- 200+): http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topic=135810.0
If you want to bring something or build something for 1-mile I would be more than happy to help you. If not, just come on out to the TEXAS MILE and check it out for an article. There are a LOT of great people and great racing in a safe and legal environment...
I've been busy with work lately and we had a little girl last Oct so haven't really touched the bike in a while. Still trying to decide my next phase of mods. Ported head/Cams (stock bore) to stay in the 1350cc class or just go TURBO! When I get some more time, I'll be back testing...

nice ride—love the blue and the ceramic black Brocks. we're in the process of building a turbo zx-14, street legal, 400+ HP, to take to Texas and Mojave. should be fun...

OK well, Dave let the cat out of the bag. So there you go, we're going for 200+ in the standing mile!

Thanks!
Sounds like a fun project and I look forward to the results! I just hope you guys are doing your own build and not having a (now closed) shop from the NE help. I think Kevin Mullner still has the current record for a ZX14 @ 230mph in 1-mile since 2007. It would be great if you guys went 250mph+ since not a lot of people LSR the 14's. I was kind of surprised Rickey Gadson even attended Loring this year for his first LSR event. Maybe he'll build something for next year also...
If you need any help when you come to Texas, please let me know. I was hoping to hit Loring in '11 but it sounds like the wife wants baby #2 around that time so I may be out for another year.

That's better. It's damn tough to get a late model sportbike into the nines at stock height, without using a strap etc.
The new BMW is simply fast as hell. It makes more power than a Gen 2 Busa and weighs 100 lbs. less - it's just math. The only reason it’s even close in the drag strip portion of these tests is that you can’t ride the damn thing with all of that power, up in the air, with a stock wheelbase. You can’t get the gas locked until you babysit the 180 RWHP unicycle midway through second gear – it’s a joke.
I love Busa’s! I have built my company around them and will continue to do so for a long time to come… But they are giant, Neanderthal sleds compared to an S 1000 RR outfitted with the dynamic traction control package and quick shifter for anything except drag racing. It’s ok, it’s a function of today’s technology; some guys still have phone’s with cords, some prefer to text and surf the web – to each is own.
Of course, some guys just don’t like the smaller bikes – I understand, I have always been one of them until the BMW came along. Until this year I have never personally owned a 1000, only Busa’s, ZX-14’s, GSX-R1100’s, 1150’ etc. and of course, my 1200 Bandit I used to run the first street legal seven second pass. I have RACED 1000’s before, but they were owned by Suzuki and I sold them after the seasons were over, as I had no use for keeping one for myself. I have always felt like a bear on a tricycle riding any brand 1000, until now, that is.

The numbers don't lie!
I just think the test would have been better on a prepped race track where the BUSA might of had a chance to hook up. Then again, we'll have to see how they do on the TOP END...
A UK mag went 202mph with one, looking forward to the article...

Staring at those pics makes me want to nab a clean used 'Busa. I like the blue/black with the gold wheels and the Brocks pipe. Damn, why'd you have to go and post those pics!
