My 1993 Honda CBR900RR had some severely neglected brakes that gummed up the calipers, lines and master cylinder with coagulated brake fluid. Though the master cylinder and lines have been changed and the calipers thoroughly cleaned, they just don't have the power I'm confident in, particularly with a passenger.
I know CBR929RR and CBR954RR stock brakes are great, so I was thinking of trying those calipers on the CBR900RR. But, they're essentially the same, just a different color so it could be a waste of time.
Maybe aftermarket calipers? Or leave it all as is and just go for a pad upgrade?
You tell me...

i left one on the blog. I figure that no matter what calipers you use, as long as you use the steel-braided lines and new pads you can only stop so fast anyways. I think the only difference would be how much feedback or feeling you get from the whole system, being spongy or stiff or whatever.

naw, could use a bigger master cylinder too and create more pressure.

If they are the same as the 929/954/f4i then they are pretty beastly strong calipers, I would change the pads and new master, either getting a cheap r1 radial master or 1000rr. I'm switching all mine over to magura but at a price, but in my opinion worth it for the feel. Pads I am running EBC Extreme Pro's I like them a lot, very consistent.

I have a 18x20 Beringer master on there, braided lines and new fluid. pads are coming. that's all that's left. The calipers might just be too old (i had to clean a lot of crud out them. we'll see... thx for the advice.

went to change pads but noticed the pistons weren't really moving much. screw these ancient calipers...just gonna put some 929/954 calipers on. i'm assuming they'll bolt right on, but please somebody, assure me that they will!
