My bike is a 93 900RR and as far as i know - im the 8th or 9th owner. After picking it up a few years ago and putting on over 15,000 miles in 9 short months - i started having a host of problems - one of the big ones being a rear sprocket stud backing out while i was riding and it chewed through my swingarm the gouge was big enough i could put my thumb in and have plenty of wiggle room - JB weld was NOT going to fit that.... so i got a new swing arm and have been doing stuff to it ever since. so here i am 2 years, one low speed slide and 2 hits later (never park in parking stalls) - im building a fighter. Pics to follow very very soon

well, that's an old bike with a lot of owners (probably negligent). i'd expect far worse probs than that actually. keep us updated on the build, it's a great bike to base a streetfighter build on.

Sounds like the perfect streetfighter donor bike.

so far, ive striped down the bike to parts in boxes. i tore down the motor and split the cases to put a 1mm over pistons in - the cylinders were bored out at APE (cbrzone.com) and the pistons fitted. i double checked the tranny for wear and tear - looks like im good - and the cases are now mated back together again. the head got new valve seals, and i ported/polished the exhaust ports ( the service manager i used to work with, worked for erion racing and he told me where to cut on the head - for my first port and polish - i did a pretty good job). pending no problems with the rest of the engine - the head should be going on next week after finals. still gotta pick up new clutch fiber disks....
the frame, swingarm and a whole crap load of parts have been powder coated flat black and and pink. and im not talking about some girly fuufuu crap pink - id call it punker pink and it looks freaking amazing.
i have a tail section from motorcyco, which ive chopped up along with my subframe and am now in the process of fiberglassing a new tail.
Ill be painting it last - im thinking Kustom Shop Hot Rod Black (flat) with some pinstripeing.... decisions decisions....
i still have a laundry list of parts to pick up - oh yeah - i was laid off in jan so im doing a lot of this on a super tight shoe string budget, ive done about 80% of the work myself in the garage.... I still have to pick up and exhaust, tires, headlights, gauges, chain/sprockets, brake pads and if i can swing it - rotors/ss brake lines...
