What's up everybody? I am a new rider and I passed my MSF course in early June and I am wanting a streetbike and this would be my first bike period. I am wanting to make into a show bike all stretched and lowered sometime down the line. Are the R6's good bikes for customization? I want a bike that can be customized so I can get alot of parts for it. A near dealer has a couple 07 R6's for sale. I just wanted some opinions of what you guyz thought about the Yamaha R6. Let me know about your riding experience on it and how it rides. You don't have to though. Also, if or not it would be ok for a beginner bike rider. I was just wanting some opinions. Thanx guyz and later!!!

MAN YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH AN R6. YAMAHA MAKES IS SOO EASY TO MAKE THEM RACE OR SHOW BIKES. ANY YR R6 LOOKS GOOD HOOKED UP.... DROP BY AND TAKE A LOOK AT MINE...FOR BEING 9YRS OLD..I THINK ITS STILL LOOKN PRETTY GOOD AND GIVING THEM NEW BIKES A RUN FOR THEIR *** YOU CAN BUY AN 04-06 AND SAVE THE MONEY THAT YOU WOULD USE ON GETN A NEW ONE AND HOOK IT AS SOON AS YOU BUY IT. MOST PEOPLE BUY A NEW BUY AND CANT HOOK IT UP CUZ THEY ARE JUST TRYN TO PAY FOR THE BIKE...JUST CUZ ITS AN "OLDER" BIKE DOESNT MEAN IT WONT WIN SHOWS MAN... *TRUST ME*

i ride an 07 r6 and i love it. there are a lot of aftermarket parts available now to make it what you want. the whole point of customizing your bike is to get what you want. dont let anyone tell you not to stretch or lower your bike. i prefer my bikes to be track day and canyon killers but if stretched out and air ride suspension is your thing, do it. you dont see many stretched R6's out there so it might be unique enough to grab a best in show.

I have a 2006 R6 and I love it. There's a few things you can do to hook it up but I don't think there are as many aftermarket parts out there than there would be for say a Gixxer. It's my opinion that there are more cost effective extended arms and stuff like that for the other bikes. Just my 2 cents.

I own a 2009 Yamaha R6...excellent knife-edge handling.  600 class leader in high end RPM power...arguably the best track bike there is.  It sits a little higher than the rest of the 600's, but I really don't mind it.  Other than that, it's fun to wheelie at over 100...LOL...bone stock too...good luck
