I know there are aftermarket spark plug wires for cars that boost power a little bit by conducting electricty a bit better than stock wires.
Are there aftermarket wires available for bikes like that? If there are I can't seem to find them anywhere.

haven't heard of them. new-ish bikes have the coil caps incorporated, so I doubt aftermarket companies have much to offer.

that's what i figured, i have looked everywhere on every site i know of for parts and haven't found anything. but on a side note, i saw some spark plugs that are designated as "race" spark plugs and they are between 475-800 bucks. I'm definitely not buying those but how are those any better than normal plugs?

just stick with NGK, they're $9 each, but that's the way it goes. don't use .99 cent Champion car plugs!

hahaha i'm assuming somebody has done that before. thanks for the tip. i was wondering on a good brand to use as well and a quality part is worth the extra money every time.

.001 of a second of lap time. spark plug wires.. prably wouldnt put ur money on it, you could get a carb rebuilt and feel the difference on the street. for the price of the stuff that the people on the track would use i wouldnt even look. plugs maybe somthing else to look into though.

70 bucks isn't much to spend on a possible upgrade. i'll try to find a place that has a dyno though and see what i can find out, i know it helps out cars quite a bit to get the bigger gauged wires so i'm hoping it will do the same for my bike.

only a dyno will tell. if it doesn't hurt or help the performance of my bike, in the end all i did was get some newer plug wires to replace the 5 year old ones.
