Stacked

What the hell are stacks for and what do they do for your bike?  

I assume you mean velocity stacks, like factory pro and graves makes??

Yeah, exactly, I've seen them on some bikes in the mag and seen them all over websites for sale but just by looking at them I can't tell what the hell they are for or what you would get out of them.

riiiight, well that does show that they work and i can accept that. so i will put those on my things to buy list next, especially since they provide the same or more extra hp than a bolt on exhaust for half the price and alot less weight.  

I did some price shopping for the stacks and I found the best deal on Motorcycle-Superstore.com because in their spring catalogue they sent a code for 20 bucks off an order of $200 or more, and I went ahead and bought the K&N filter so I could knock that out since I was going to have to get to the air box anyways.  The total for both came out to 249 with the discount and free shipping.

Is there anything else that I am going to have to buy to install the stacks? When I bought the Vortex levers I had to buy the effin mounts separately and that kinda threw me off. I don't want to get home and get ready to install them and then find out that I'm missing a part that I have to order online again.

i'll try to find a place that has a dyno in dallas, i've never built up my own bike like this before so i've never had to use one. i'm pretty anxious to see the before and after though so i'll post results as soon as i get them.
