Hey guys,
Sorry if this is a common question, but I dont know where else to ask.
I'm a pretty light guy, 6' and about 150 or so.
Basically I'd just like something that's good on gas and for commuting.
How is the honda cbr125? I don't care much about speed at all and I've seen vids of it going 140 which I don't even need to get up to anyways. Just wondering if it's too light of a bike though (I don't know much about bikes so yeah, it probably shows lol). I'm 19 right now so don't know if I'd be outgrowing a bike (weight-wise) or anything like that.
Also read about the ninja 250, but not sure if it's really necessary unless someone has any info convincing otherwise. I just want a bike for fun/commuting as I said earlier, so power isnt that much of a priority, especially if the ninja would cost me like twice as much as the cbr125.
Thanks guys

I would just go with the 250, I dont know about other states but in California a bike has to be 175cc or greater to be highway legal.
The 250 is great on gas and its not that tiny of a bike either. My wife is starting out rideing as well and she like the Yamaha Vstar 250.

after reading a bit more I think the 250 might be the way to go.
I hear the 125 has problems hitting 90km/hr on the highway and when passing cars etc, and I intend to use it on the highway, so it'd be a bit of a pain in the ass in that department.
I'm in Canada, so not sure about the highway laws, but yeah the 250 would probably be safer on the highways in general even if its legal
The 250 is probably more comfortable too and not as light/unstable, if that's an issue.
I've never ridden a street bike before, but I'm just wondering..
If you suck at shifting, is it possible to run into that problem where the bike goes into a wheelie and falls backwards? Also, what causes that?
I was riding a little tiny dirtbike once and that happened LOL, I'm pretty sketched out about that happening on a street bike

You shouldn't really have to worry about that problem on a 250. Just learn to ride within your limits and learn to roll the throttle and not jerk it and you should be fine. There are always plenty of safety courses available to take lessons on how to safely ride a bike. Just google it and find one near you or if you don't trust your own abilities there is always used civics lol.
