good bike for a small first-time rider?

hi!
i'm looking forward to buying my first bike, but i don't know any female riders to ask for advice on what to buy.  a ninja 250 has been suggested to me a couple times, but i'm sure there are other options out there for someone who's 5'3" and skinny, right?

the best thing to do is go and sit on every bike you can. find one that is comfortable and fits your style. never let anyone tell you which bike to get, you can take suggestions like (these have electrical trouble) kind of thing but your bike is your bike. please get proper gear with the bike most dealers will throw it in for free, especially if your a hot chick. at least get a helmet with it. go get your bike and start having the time of your life. ninja 250 is a good beginner bike, but it can hurt you just like a 1000 if you are not safe and smart. get the bike you feel good on. and if people give u *** bc of what u ride, dont ride with them.
