What's up everybody. I just recently passed my MSF and got my motorcycle endorsements. I haven't owned a bike before and this is my first bike. I want a streetbike because I have wanted one for the longest time. I preferably want a 600. I have narrow the field down a little bit between the bikes I want. I either want a Kawasaki ZX-6R, Yamaha R6, or Suzuki GSX-R600. I don't really like the exhaust on the Kawasaki ZX-6R plus it isn't fuel injected which I would like to have. I am also looking at the Yamaha R6. I for some reason ever since I started looking at Super Street Bike and getting my endorsement and know a little bit more about stuff. I am really wanting the Suzuki GSX-R600 because they seem to be the bike that everyone customizes and are very popular and it also has alot of parts you can get for it. Plus I love the way they look and there a really a beautiful bike. I ain't too worried about how fast it goes and how it corners at high speeds because I ain't much of a speed freak. I won't even be taking it out of my town unless it's on a trailer. I just like cruising around at slow speeds. I also would eventually like to carry a passenger sometime. I also plan on lowering it and stretching it. I will be taking it to shows so I want it to be a show bike. So, I would like to have a bike that you can customize and it has alot of parts out there that you can get for it. It also won't get ridden very much to except maybe saturday nite hangouts and local car shows and the ever once in a while cruisin around. You guyz think the Suzuki GSX-R600 would be a good choice for what I am wanting to do with it, or not? Thanx guyz

LOL , u sound just like i did. when i wanted to get my bike, "It also won't get ridden very much to except maybe saturday nite hangouts and local car shows and the ever once in a while cruisin around, I won't even be taking it out of my town unless it's on a trailer" your gonna ride ur bike! i said all the same things u just said and when people told me that i will ride it i was like naw! riding becomes a way of life! ull ride.  as far as pickin a bike get what ever u like! i didnt want a gixxer cause everyone had them. and to tell u tha truth i rode one and wasnt that impressed. if you put any kinda of stretch besides like 4" or maybe 6" ur gonna have to do motor work cause ur gonna lose responds and power in low gears. thats why i got a 1000 so i wouldnt have to worry about that! but to each his own. good luck with ur decision!

I dont know what year kawi zixxer u were looking at, but i know that the 07 and 08 r digitaly fuel injected. i liked the gixxer and r6. to me they are all good bikes in their own way. u can find more add on parts for the gixxer. i myself, i got an 08 zixxer.it get in n out of them corners fast and quick. like i said though u have to find the one that works and feels right for u. ride 'er hard. peace

I'm getting my first bike this year. My dealer let me put a deposit down and I am going back every two weeks making payments until I finish paying it off in Feb.--besides, who wants to bring a bike home in the snow? (Free storage) Anyway, I chose the 2008 Kawasaki ZZR 600. The insurance is cheaper than the other sportbikes. I didn't hear U say Honda 600 CBRRR. If U are gonna make it a show bike--buy used. But, buy what U like. It took me a while for my choice. But I'm sure I'll be happy to ride. All the 600 bikes are pretty much the same, they just go about it differently.

The best thing to do is ride a few friends bikes if possible. Go to the dealer and sit on some get a feel 4 the different styles, U won't go out of town unless on a tralier, yea u will I said the same thing, My first bike was a 250 ninja, I bought it brand new, in 4 years I put 4000 miles on it. I bought a Kawasaki zx6r back in may of 08, from may to oct, when i parked it to do some work on it, I put 12,000 miles on it, I ride it every chance I get. When it comes down to it, it's your choice, But shop around. Good Luck Always ride safe, Remember there's people that love u. Good luck dude.

go with a gixxer, more comfortable than any cbr, ninja or r6. hey jaydumb, all 600's are the same, wow! wake up newbie, ride alittle more and do some research. next time you might sound smarter but i doubt it.

Just my 2 cents. I've been on the Honda and I really liked it. There was something about how smooth it was. But I went with the 06 R6 and I couldn't be happier. When I bought it I had to ride it about 2.5 hours to get it home. That was highway and backroad driving. I had to stoptwice just because my butt wasn't use to the seat and it felt like my cheeks were going numb. I thought that would be a prob but after about a week or two of riding it constantly I finally got use to it. The bike will flat out fly for a 600 and has a really nice/modern look (I took all the graphics off of my stock blue except for the Yamaha forks on the tank). It moves in and out of curves very well. So im pretty much in love with the bike. It does have a couple drawbacks though. A couple things would be the lack of a gear display on the instrument gauges. So you have to feel and know what gear you're in and also the lack of customs for ideas. I see tons of GSXRs with crazy paint jobs and stuff and only a fraction of custom R6s in the newer body style.

cant beat a yamaha! get the 09 R1 with the crossplane crankshaft. that is a bad bike. being its your first bike just take it easy and dont act like a fool. wear all your gear also. if you prefer a 600 go with the R6.
