Ya i agree. speedos are about 10% above what you are actually doing. And plus theres no need to go that fast to race those little ricer cars around town your pretty much untouchable.

Uh....NO....there are PLENTY of 100% STOCK MOTOR BUSA's going 200mph+! It's really not hard when you use a combo that works. I've got a build thread on going 204mph on a STOCK motor N/A, NO NITROUS BUSA in 1-mile.
Guys at Loring went 209-214mph on STOCK motor BUSA's!
Feel free to PM me if you need more info on how to do it. It would be great if the mag came out to the TEXAS MILE, LORING, MIAMI MILE, etc. for one of the races and covered it in the mag. It might get more people off the "street racing" and to a safe sanctioned event...

i'll give you the 204, but over 210 sounds ridiculous (without a major tailwind, a 100 pound rider and going slightly downhill!).

LOL....these are certified runs, not some squid spouting BS at a bike show!
You should come out to a Top Speed event sometime. I'm sure you've heard of Maxton since you guys use to sponsor the SSB event. However, there is Miami, Texas, Mojave, Loring, etc. doing 1 and 1.5 mile races. They are all timing certified and not speedometer indicated or even radar gun (bs)runs. Funny part is these are short runs, not Bonneville style runs where there is still a LOT of speed on the table for these bikes.
200+ is possible now with a Gen-II BUSA and proven mods in 1-mile. Similar mods and a gear change resulted in 209-214 on several different BUSA's with the same mods and a gear change at Loring. You should seriously expand the magazine to covering more race events and people actually racing the bikes on a closed course.

we should expand the magazine? SSB sponsored Maxton for 5 years but couldn't get anybody to show up!!!! We tried to enter Mojave but couldn't comply with all of the immaterial rules.

Sorry, I meant covering more race events since Maxton isn't the only 1-mile race anymore. People got tired of the drive and have started other events around the country. It was a slow start but LSR has gotten a LOT bigger in the last 5-years.
Mojave does have some crazy rules but Texas and Miami are a little more relaxed. Anytime you want to come out to the Texas Mile, let me know. I'd be glad to help you anyway I can.
You could even do a progressive build racing a bike. If that doesn't work with your schedule maybe even a local 1/4-mile bolt on test...

whats up. i have an 07 r6 and mine has hit 175 stretched out givin it all its got, and its bone stock, you could add a power commander to give it a little extra boost and just kinda wake the bike up. im not sure about the 05 model 6er. but i do know the 07 was the first stock 600 of its kind to reach over 170 mph. if you want to go faster than that... i sugest you get a busa. i cant say andything about the cbr. my neighbor has an 03 cbr rr 6er with a commander and it has really came alive and runs a close race with my bike. so its whatever your comfortable on really.. trust me every ride feels different....

All depends on rear sprocket size, counter-shaft size, and tire profiles, but i race at the track and those R-6's seem pretty damn fast!"I like the R-6's" 160 easy "but" Hondas are bullet proof, and can withstand a lot of abuse. I stretch chains on my 82hp Hurricane before i need an oil change. My bike also does 0-60 in 3.0 seconds, and this bike is way older than you even, and it beats all the other track bikes off the line up to forth gear of course. The only bikes that it wont beat is an R-1 and the CBRXX Blackbird. The top end on my bike does suck though, it only hits buck40. But anyway...to answer your ? ,the top speeds for most 600's are about 155 to 160 stock. With a Power-commander I've heard as much as 170. I'm a little worried though that your concerned about top speed...sure i like to go fast too...and a buck40 is pretty damn fast if you've never experienced it before, and i couldn't even imagine going Busa speed...doublebuck20,that's totally insane. But the only way to progress on a bike is to pick up a really old bike, one with about 80hp to 90hp like an old f1, f2,or f3 Honda for about $1000..and take it to the track, ride it up to its full limits, and if you crash it or total it real bad...just go by another one, its cheaper than crashing a newer bike. Then keep riding it till you can keep up with the guys on the newer bikes,(the ones with 120hp to 140hp), and "then" go buy what you really want. Hope you found this helpful.
