i would like to convert the tail on my 2005 gsxr 750 to the 2006 flat tail style... im guessing that this is not a straight bolt on deal as the frame may be differant... not really sure how to go about this... any suggestions? (other than trading it in on a 2006)

you would need to purchase a 2006 subframe and tail. it will have to be cut and refit to your frame. a good fab shop can do it for you for a good price.

i bet you can use the same subframe. have you tried fitting it straight up yet? maybe just a chop and re-fiberglass job...

If you have a shop do it it will cost cubic dollars. I would say give it a shot yourself. If you dont carry passenger I would say pick up a race tail and experiment.
I personally like the R6 tail and put one on my 'Busa

I think you have seen this bike with the stock tail in front of the shop.
Sully has seen it with the R6 tail last time he came by with his TL
