SSB,
I just received my Jan issue and was reading it over and wondering what other mods were done to the BUSA..?
Any idea what the total weight of the bike/rider was and what kind of wind you experienced during testing...?
I'm doing a similar project with an '08 BUSA and wanted to invite you to check it out. I'm trying to get a (Gen-II) BUSA to run 200MPH in 1-mile as an average build rider (6'2" & 220lbs.). I base lined it stock at the October TEXAS MILE event and will be attending again in March with upgrades.
Feel free to check out my results--> http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topic=135810.0
I'd like to chat with you about your runs if you have time to shoot an email my way.
Thanks,
Josh

the total weight was whatever the bike weighed stock minus the exhaust, plus a 240 pound rider in full gear. weather conditions were perfect: 68 degrees and 0 mph wind.
all of the mods are listed on page 54.

Dave,
Did you by chance compare the wheel weight between the OEM and Galespeed wheels...? I thought the reduced centrifugal weight would have helped you a bit more on the top end.
How did the bike feel at max speed...?
You're welcome to join me out at the Texas Mile meet in March if you want. You can even bring the bike and we'll see if we can't improve that speed...
If not, I'll be trying a few things on mine if you want to check it out. You're welcome to use my info/results on what it takes to go 200mph. I'm no jockey either so I won't be using any tricks to get it done...
Shoot me a PM or email if you are interested....

Yes, the Texas Mile is open to the public. The new race dates should be posted any day now on http://www.texasmile.net/ and they also have a SPEED SHOOTOUT put on by the racers--> http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topic=134531.0
I don't know why the dates aren't posted but the SSB gathering at MAXTON is usually posted here--> http://www.ecta-lsr.com/
Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can direct you in the right direction.

I forgot to add that the SSB Shootout is normally in September unless weather doesn't cooperate...

that's great coverage.
couple things...those dyno numbers are extremely high. we had a custom map, full system and nitrous and still didn't come close to 200 HP on the dyno (dynojet).
also, any tail wind on the day you broke 200? that's pretty crazy stuff that you went faster than ours with less motor.

I posted both SAE and STD numbers for comparison. They are inline with other bikes running the same setup so I don't know what to tell you there.
Did you try any race gas or only pump fuel...?
The weather did play a big factor in the results. Saturday morning it was high-50's and the wind changed around for a few hours. However, Friday and Sunday with the head wind and temps in the 80's, I pulled 193-195MPH pretty consistently.
Two other bikes with the same setup broke 200mph, unfortunately I am the heaviest one at 220lbs. The other two guys were 180 & 185. I updated the thread with my runs and more info...
