I'm new to riding and I bought a 96' CBR1000 not because I wanted a bike this big but because I got it from a friend cheap. Is there any updates I can do to it. It doesnt look to old but I just wanted to make it look a little better. It has a slip-on exhaust that looks like crap any suggestions for a different one, and any other updates I could do? Thanks in advance.

instead of spending money modding it i'd look to unload it for something newer. that's pre blackbird, which has also been discontinued.
that should indicate a few things. ride it for a bit, but before spending any money sell it and get something newer.
imo

Thanks for the response. I've been looking at new bikes already, seems like the way to go. Thanks again.

I HAVE A 94 900RR, AND FROM WHAT I SEE, THERE IS VERY LITTLE TO UPGRADE ON THE OLDSHCOOL... BUT IF IT'S RUNNING RIGHT AND TIGHT, LOOKS CAN CHANGE FROM FLUSH MOUNTS TO PAINT JOBS... BUT IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO LOOK FOR NEW-IT DOES GET COSTLY TO REPAIR ... ME FEELING THAT NOW!!! OUCH...
