Buying a Used Bike....

when buying a used bike there are many things that should be taken into consideration, suck as break lights, un cracked fuel pipes, breaks, tires, chasis' and other things that should be checked out before purchasing a used bike from someone who has been riding for a while. I also understand that its useful to  inform the seller about the bike being completely turned off before i get there to make sure that the engine is cool, to give me a chance to turn on the bike myself. There are many things to take into consideration when buying a used bike off of someone from Ebay or Craigslist. So my question is... does any one have any suggestions on if i should have a checklist that is available online or any useful sites that can help me out since i dont have many friwnds that ride street bikes....any suggestions would help a great deal thanks!!!  

WELL YOUR NOT ALONE ON THIS....... I JUST BOUGHT USED.. COULD HAVE USED A MECHANIC THOUGH.... NOW I HAVE TO PAY OUT THE ASS FOR THINGS THAT ONLY A MECH WOULD HAVE KNOWN... AND HOW DOES ONE SEE IF THERE GETTING F-ED OVER CAUSE THE STATE NEEDS AN INSPECTION BEFORE THE BIKE GET REGISTERED?... WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIMPLE CARB CLEANING TUNE UP REAR TIRE-MY BAD, PICKED UP A NAIL..... AND STATE INSP. NOW IT'S A HOPE AND PRAY THEY DON'T AUCTION IT FOR THE BILL BEING SKY HIGH AND ME HOLDING UP A WHITE FLAG.... WHAT IS THE WINNING NUMBER TO THAT LOTTO?... COULD USE AN ANSWER MYSELF MAN... SO YOUR NOT ALONE!!!
