i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of putting a 1000cc engine on a 600cc frame... if its possible or what would i have to do to put say like a gsxr 1000 motor on my gsxr 600! is there a place that does that professionally? is there a kit for that kind of stuff?

well actually i was searching other websites to see if anyone had the same question and turns out there is a website dedicated to make mounts for this very case... hybridracing.ca but that very helpful and polite man told me that he doesnt have a demand for such new bikes such as mine a 2007 gsxr 600 and he would need someone to send him a frame and more demand to make a "kit" for sale so i hope this helps anyone who bothers to read this forum!

why would you want to do that? just curious...
the weight difference is pretty small between the two bikes anyways...

There was a guy at my old job that did that very thing. He had actually gone to MMI and decided against pursuing a career as a motorcycle mechanic. He also had experience welding. He took his Gixxer 600 apart down to the frame and apparently did a bit of a hack job getting the 1000cc in there and then extended/welded the frame back together. It was very hard to tell that there was anything out of the ordinary going on there. The fit and finish was good, but he had to use some racing bodywork since the stock bodywork didn't fit back on it. Always asked him if he wanted to switch bikes for an afternoon, but he never went for it. But yes, this can be done.
