Me and couple of guys at work were arguing about the chicken strips on the tires. One guy was saying the more worn out the chicken strip was, the further you went down. Is that true??? How can you tell how far you went down by reading the tire???

The chicken strip is the part of the tire(closest to the sidewall of tire) that hasnt touched the pavement much. If there isnt a chicken strip on the tire that means that you have been deep down in a curve, so if there is a big strip the bike hasnt been leaned far. Hope that helps bro, and hopefully i didnt confuse you lol.. stay safe!

Thanks for the reply bro. So the more chicken strip you're tire has the less you lean. The least chicken strip you have the more you lean. Is there any other way of telling how far you went?

Yep thats it you got it lol. Umm thats bout the only way i can tell, but there may be more out there. But lookin at the tire is pretty much the easiest way to tell and the most obvious.

man your readin in to it too much, if you are that worried about it find a close track and do a track day class, you will learn more in that weekend then a year on the street and when your done you will realize there is way more important things to look at then the wear on your tires in comparision to who is the better rider, because that is what you are really asking right? and chicken strip is a *** term devised by posesrs talkin trash about other riders. ride within your limit..

fair point. if dudes are walking around looking at wear marks on others' tires then they're probably the slowest of the group anyways just trying to make themselves feel better.
don't sweat stuff like that—just take it slow, and before you know it you'll be wearing out the sides before the center...

I know that. Its just that these other guys were confused, as was I. I was just trying to figure it out. Besides I do take it slow, dont get me wrong. I always ride with in my limits. Angeles crest is the spot!!!
