Plain and simple. I am a new rider (green as you can get) and i am still arguing with myeslf on whether to get the begginers bike, which is the Ninja 250R or to go with something with more power. I was thinking on getting the R6 because i'm going to be taking my girlfriend out to. But the Ninja is what most ppl suggest. Which should i get?

It's sad this forum is plagued with "should this be my first bike" threads.
It depends on your attitude. The '08 250r's are the perfect beginner's bike for those who have patience... can appreciate something that is smaller than other bikes and don't have that "ego" that most guys who ride sports bike have.
Personally speaking, I wish I would've gone the 600cc route but I've put almost 10k on my 250 and It's TRULY hard to mess up to the point of no return when riding. The 250 is VERY forgiving, but, when properly ridden, can stay with the 600's in the twisties ( also personally speaking ). Too many people start big and talk big *** but can only ride in a straight line... cool? meh, yeah, but I'll 90 in a corner than 130 in a straight line.
BTW, depending on your weight, you'll top out at 110ish ( i got mine to 116, pre-'08s are quicker ).
