should my first bike be a 08 Busa?

get a scooter, ride it for a week,if you dont dump it your ready for one of the fastest production bikes in the world. make sure to get life insurance and a will.....  

You didn't take your driving test in a Bugatti Veyron, why would you get a BUSA as your first bike...?  

Start slow and learn the ropes, there is ALWAYS time to upgrade down the road.  You never know, you might change your mind after the MSF course on what kind of bike you want.  I would get a cheap bike that you can dump a few times and then get a nice bike in 6-months once you have learned the basic skills and improve your confidence.

As others have stated, have you called for an insurance quote...?  Most people change there mind when the quote is more than the bike (depending on your record, credit score, etc.)...

I don't think anyone on here wants to loose a new rider regardless of the bike you buy so BE SMART!  Take it easy and try not to do anything crazy...    

How good are you cornering skills? Remember, a heavy'r bike can be tough to handle when the corner tightens!
