Are you thinking of buying one or the other? If so, I'm in the same boat. I'm wondering which bike I should go with. An 08' R6 or an 08' GSXR-750. Obviously the skill level of the rider makes all the difference in the world and there are plenty of skilled riders who could ride a 600 and would out perform a novice rider on a 750 or 1000. Rider aside, my question is which bike, 08' R6 or 08' GSXR-750 is the complete package? Which has the best overall Handling, power, stability, and comfort? Anyone?

I have the 07 GSX-R 750 and i absolutely love it. i had a 600 and wanted more power but not too much like a 1000. it handles the same as a 600 and it weighs about the same, but that little bit more of power is great.

Thanks for responding. Do you find that 600's get through the corners better...quicker, and the 750 has the xtra HP to catch them on the straight aways? Or does the 750 corner just as well? All the reviews I've read about the new 08' R6 describe it as being "track engineered" more so than any other 600. I would love to see a shootout between the 08' R6 and the 08' GSXR-750.

Again im in the same boat. Debating R6 or GSXR. I'm 90% sure im going with the R6 though. last year they had high speed stability problems (very twitchy) and no mid range power. 08' took the R1's electronic intake platform (yamaha has a name for it but I cant remember what it is, YCCI i think)to get the mid range back. New swing arm for the stability issue. As for the GSXR its an amazing bike any which way you look at it but im not as familiar with its changes.

Are you debating between the r6 and a gsxr 600 or the r6 and a gsxr 750? I agree, I think Yamaha made some very good changes on the 08' r6. After researching the 600's out there, I too had decided on the 08' r6 until someone recommended the gsxr 750. It only weighs about 5 pounds more than most of the 600's but has better hp and torque while still maintaining excellent handling. If you pick up the July issue of "Sport Rider" it has the 600 shootout as well as an article about the gsxr 750. Food for thought...

I believe that the 750 is the best way to go. Especially if you plan on track days. It has plenty of top end hp and lots of midrange power and torque. Excellent bike, that only weighs in a little bit over a 600. There is no way a R6 can compete with the gsxr 750. I am not saying this because I am partial to either bike, It is just the truth. Go with the 750 you won't be disappointed!!!

i own a 08 r6 and the mid range is not that much better than the 07 all the power is so high up in the rpms is hard to ride. also it doesnt come with a steering damper, and the 750 does which helps a lot a love riding my friends 750 perfect power, perfect bike....and it wheelies way easier!!!!!!!!!

I have a 08 r6 and love the bike. I have rode for many years and still went with the 600 class. Why? For starters, no matter what you buy, there will always be someone faster then you. SOmeone out there has a turbo on the busa or nitrious etc. Plus the size of the bike doesn't make you the guy or girl with the biggest balls. In other words, just cause you have a 1000, it does not make you more cool then the guy on the 600. Anyone can ride a bike fast but can you do it in a controlled manner? I have put some money into my bike. I have done mods to give me more. Changing gears is the simple answer to mid range and not very expensive to do. On a 600, you feel the mods you do for sure. I can bet you that I not only can beat a 750, I can beat a 1000. They scratch their heads in wonder when a 600 beats them and it cracks me up. As far as wheelies, clutch it up is the answer. GOod luck in your choice on bikes. I would say go with the color that makes you hard. Everything else can be changed.

the real question you need to ask is which bike do you feel more comfortable on. some people like having more power, but a 600 is more than plenty. i like more power, but don't neccesarily need it. really, it all comes down to what you feel better riding. don't worry about what other people think, they don't ride your bike.

Check out both and see which one you like better. Find out what's more comfortable for you when you sit on it.
