Lowering

The dealership I am looking to buy my bike from Max Pitts in Peru, IN everyone around here that has a rocket probably buys from them. I plan on buying a new bike from them. Since the street bike I want is taller and I am shorter they said they could lower it for me but they said they'd be using lowering blocks for it. What is the difference between lowering blocks and lowering links? If they are different which one would be better for me to get and have them put on to achieve maximum lowering? Sorry if I sound dumb but I am a new rider and don't know a whole lot yet. Thanx guyz, Later
