I dont know what kind of bike to get what desplacement or anything. most my friends have one and ive always wanted one. they are trin to get me to get like 1000 or something like that. i dont want something that will hall ass i just want one thats good in turns cause i live in the mountains. something i can handle. any advice would be nice.

Now i know that this might supprise you but i am also in ur categorie 6'0 ft and i actually weigh 265lbs and i got a 07 yamaha r6. and it is great. it is alsoo my first bike. i live in charlotte, nc. i go up to the mountains frequently in it. curves no issue. so that's my advice for you. i also thought about getting a 1000 but honestly i'm a new rider. i thought that i would really kill myself if i got that. it is this one and there are times where my *** tightens up if you know what i mean! good luck in your search let us know what you end up with aiht!

I agree with the guy on top of me, if your gonna hit the curves, never ridin', and you are a car guy( not that thats bad or anything) get a 600cc. yamaha makes a good 600. But according to BIKE mag the honda cbr600 is the way to go for 07. but any other year stay with the R6.
