ok. i really want to purchase a street bice(ninja 650r). i have never rode any kind of motorcycle before though.is it all that bad? i just need some advice on what i should be concerned about. i cant afford to get a shitty bike and then go out and buy another one. so i thought about getting a new one and just being really careful for a while??? has this been done by anyone? and was it a bad idea?

Before i took the MSF course back in Sept 07, i've never rode a motorcycle before in my life. Well a month later i went out and bought a brand spanking new 2007 GSXR 750 and till this day, i'm just fine. It's all about the maturity of the rider and if you got the brains to tame that right hand, then you should be fine. Don't buy anything less that a 600...you'll b sorry!!! Also if you can find someone that been riding for awhile and have to kinda guide and teach you and please read as many books as you can. My personal bests are Sportsbike Riding Technique and a Twist of the Wrist Vol. I and II. Get the technique down and speed will be sure to follow. Also dress for the fall, not the ride meaning ALWAYS,ALWAYS,ALWAYS wear your gear no matter if you're just going down the street and back. If anything is possible and can happen, it probably will as soon as you don't have your gear on. GSXR foe life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i just got a ninja 650r in sept. 2007 and had it for like 3 weeks and i fell off twice , the first time i fell the bike from up under me(small scrapes to the bike)but the bike snd i slide across the intersection, i jumped up and ran after my bike while it was still slidding across harvard road, hoping that know body would hit me and the bike, but everyone stood in place untill my experienced biker body guards came to me rescue, i thought that i could pick up my "650" that did work out so well. but the 2nd time i fell my boyfriend sister pinched out while turning left @ a stop sign and i did'nt know what to do cause i did'nt want to go over the side walk and into house, so like a new rider i pressed on the front brakes and did a indo(yeah!12 o-clocked it:{ the bike fell on my leg but i got back up a said "f*ck this sh*t, take the *** bike home" that was then this now, i will still learn how to ride the fuker no matter what, i think falling off helped me with some of my fears of riding. I SAY IF YOU FALL OFF GET DA *** BACK UP RIDE.
