Jeff,

Are you going with a TURBO setup or sticking with a big Nitrous shot?  Sounds like a fun project, post up some more info when you get time.

Bring it out to the Texas Mile in March...

ITS GOING TO HAVE A TURBO. THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF GUYS TRY THE TURBO ON 600S AND FAIL BUT A FEW HAVE SUCCEDED WITH THEM. WE ARE USEING ALL THE POS AND NEG DATA WE HAVE AND GOING WERE FEW BUILDERS HAVE GONE BEFORE. LIKE I SAID THIS BIKE WILL NOT BE READY TILL THE END OF 2009. BUT I HAVE A FEW ADD ONS FOR MY CBR 600RR FOR 2009 THAT I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT. WE ARE GOING TO TRY AND GET INTO THE MID 180S WITH IT THIS YEAR. IT WILL BE ON THE DYNO BY THE FIRST OF NEXT WEEK. AND I WILL BE POSTING THE DYNO NUMBERS ON OUR WEB SITE. I HAVE TO BE IN DAYTONA FOR THE HONDA 200,BUT IF I GET A CHANCE I WOULD LIKE TO BRING MY LITTLE HONDA TO TEXAS AND RUN. WHAT IS THE FASTEST 600S RUNNING OUT THERE,

better build those internals bulletproof as you're gonna need some serious HP/Boost to push a 600cc bike to 200mph.
unless you're 4'2" and 85 lbs of course.

THIS THING IS GOING TO HAVE THE BEST YOU CAN BUY IN IT AND IF WE CANT FIND WHAT WE NEED WE ARE GOING MAKE IT. IT MAY END UP, A 30.000 DOLLOR SMOKE BOMB BUT THATS A CHANCE IM WILLING TO TAKE, MY BEST FRIEND HAS BEEN RIDING BIKES FOR 25 YEARS AND IS ONE OF THE CRAZIEST ON A BIKE I HAVE EVER SEEN WITH LOTS OF TALENT. HE IS A SMALL GUY 5' TALL AND ABOUT 120 LBS. HE SAID IF WE WANT HIM TO HE WILL RIDE IT AFTER TESTING. SO IM TRYING TO DECIDE NOW DO I GO ON A DIET.

HOW MUCH DOES A CARBON REAR WHEEL HELP. LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE MASS IS TURNING AT SPEED AND THERE IS ALOT OF TIME TO GET UP TO SPEED AT MAXTON SO IS IT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY.

Every bit helps but that's a big chunk of money for wheels.  From what I've learned once you're making big power, you will probably add weight to the swingarm for traction.  IMO, you would notice more in the 1/4-mile with a Carbon rear due to less rotational weight but for top speed you will loose a little stability.  I'd hold off for an LSR bike until that's the absolute last thing to do and then give it a try.  Unless you've got extra money to burn, go for it...

IM AT THAT POINT NOW. I BUILT THE MOTOR OUT TO A 636. AND PUT $10.000 IN TO THE MOTOR AND TITANIUM EXHAUST SYSTEM, I HAVE LOTS OF TIME ON THE DYNO ALSO,BUT THE WEATHER CAN CHANGE ALL THAT IN JUST A FEW MINS, AND HAVE FOUND THAT AERODYNAMICS AT THIS POINT ARE PROVEING TO BE THE BIGGEST PROBLEM NOW. ALL ONE CAN DO I GUESS IS HOPE FOR A REALLY STRONG TAIL WIND?IM BUILDING A GAS TANK NOW SO I CAN TRY AND GET OUT OF THE WIND. I HAVE EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO BUILD A WINDTUNNLE IN MY BASEMENT, AND THAT HAS BEEN A REALLY BIG HELP,I GUESS I JUST NEED TO LOOSE A FEW INCHES AND HOPE THAT WILL HELP.

Aero is everything at this level.  You've got to get out of the wind.  Have you lowered the bike...?  Getting past the wall of air will be the toughest thing.  You can try mounting a BUSA fairing on it...    j/k

I HAVE A BUSA FRONT FENDER THAT HELPED ME GAIN 3 MPH AT THE SUPER STREETBIKE SHOOTOUT, I TRIED 4 DIFFERENT WINDSCREENS AND THE STOCK ONE WAS THE MOST EFFECTIVE. THE FRONT IS LOWERED 2 INCHES AND THE REAR IS LOWERED ALL I CAN GO. I BACK OF THE BRAKES AND, I TAPE UP EVRY THING I CAN, VORTEX HAS PICKED ME UP FOR THE 2009 SEASON AND SENT ME SOME SHORT LEVERS AND BETTER MIRROR BLOCK OFF PLATES FOR THIS YEAR. I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO MAKE SOME RAM AIR DUCTS THAT STICK OUT IN FRONT OF THE NOSE ON THE BIKE TO TRY AND GAIN POWER AND CAUSE THE WIND TP SPLIT BETTER AND GAINED A SMALL AMOUNT WITH THEM. ANY OTHER IDEAS,THANKS WWW.MCLEANSRACING.COM

Are your leathers nice and snug, no flapping...?  You take off the bar ends...?  Put the bike on stands and get someone to take some pics (from all angles) of you on the bike tucked with all your gear on.  See if you can find anything to improve air flow.  Also look at anything that is sticking out in the wind from the side (pegs, bolts, feet, etc.) and front.

How hard are you launching and do you use an air shifter...?  Tire warmers...?  It's going to come down to every little bit.  Now if you can get the TURBO sorted, the large power increase should overcome most of that until a certain point where you will hit another wall of issues...
