does anyone know where (or if) i can get lowering links for my fiance's 2005 yamaha fz-6? if not, any other suggestions would be appreciated

Shave some padding off the seat? you can raise the front forks in the triple a bit as well, but lowering the bike should be your last resort as it will affect the handling of the bike.
